When I decided to do a maternity shoot I really wanted to go all out. Honestly I've never really done anything ALL OUT like make up artist, hair stylist, photographer, and multiple outfits before. Even my wedding I skimmed on some of that stuff and I kind of regret it now. So this time I decided we are doing it all, and I'm so happy I did!
I found Haley Nord, the photographer and when I contacted her with my idea she sounded...in my head as I read her emails...super excited to be taking this 2 hour journey out to the sand dunes with me. When she said she's been searching for a client to take out there I knew we were a match made in heaven...awww! lol
After that I started thinking, which I do outside of work every once in awhile, if I'm going to take this journey 3 hrs from my house I wanted a couple of shots that makes me completely different and showcases another beautiful side of life. Thats' where Novum Crafts comes in. I found them on Instagram and knew I had to contact them.
So here are my shots with this amazing Indian headdress.
Photographer- Haley Nord Photography
Hair/Makeup- Megan Moore of The Beauty Snoop
Headdress- Novum Crafts
Dress- American Eagle
I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of Indian headdresses, I in no way am wearing it to show disrespect or mockery. I wanted to show the beauty of creating life along with the beauty of culture in this amazing setting. Please keep your comments to yourself if they are disrespectful. Thank you!
Have you heard of Minted before? Well, if you haven't Minted is quite the website. They are a website full of global independent artist and their work which consists of wall art, stationary, and home decor. Minted hosts ongoing design challenges to help find new designers and their pieces and showcases them by posting the winners. Which I love because I'm all about supporting the little guys! Once I got to looking through their website at all the pretty and beautiful nursery wall art I couldn't stop. It kept going and going and going which made it really hard to decide on a few choices.
In the end I picked the cute framed N and the Dream Big print with the little girl. Do you want to know what else is pretty amazing about Minted? Each artwork customizable, and it's soo easy! During the order process you just type in what you want and then it comes all ready for you to hang right up. So we may or may not be naming the little girl Nora ;)
What do you think about the frames? Stinkin cute right? Well they came shipped that way! That's another customization option. There are about 10 frames to choose from and surprise surprise I picked white...who would have guessed lol! I was a little worried that they might get broken during shipment but both arrived safe and sound all nicely packaged.
<All opinions are my own>
I love Etsy and now I love Etsy even more because their collection of kids stuff is super adorable! So I thought I'd share my Etsy baby Essentials list.
This may not be everything you need but man it's all super cute stuff a newborn could use! I can't wait for Baby H to get here so I can start spoiling her with cute things.
Come soon baby girl!
A trip to Glacier wouldn't be the same without a stop by Lake McDonald. This place is probably my favorite place ever. I love to sit on the rocky beach and just watch the nice calm lake. This is the first time EVER that I've seen the lake choppy. Usually the lake is glass, like see your refection plus more glass. So with it being choppy I got a new view and different perspective of this lake and life.
It taught me that even perfect things/people/places have their wavy times. Life isn't always glass, but in the end it always goes back to glass. The next day the lake was back to it's beautiful peaceful self.
Just down the road from the Lake McDonald Lodge is Avalanche Gorge. This is a very short hike mostly on a boardwalk, which made for a perfect hike for a pregnant lady. Yes, it was still slightly overcast and it was down pouring before we got there which means there was literally 5 people on the path. I can't imagine what this hike would be like on a nice sunny day, crazy crowded.
This trail also takes a turn so you can head up to Avalanche Lake. I'll do that hike when it's me, the husband, and the babe.
Lets just say Glacier is still one of my favorite spots and I've been every year for the past 3-4 years minus last year when we decided to go to Yosemite NP instead. I can't wait to share these places with baby Hepworth. Next year will be different and a new adventure, until then!
Now this is my style of babymoon. Me, my fam, the mountains, and a little chill in the air = PERFECT! I never understood why pregnant ladies always wanted to go some place warm/hot when they are already stinkin hot as it is. Most of the time I walk around in my undies at home or minimal clothing lol
So where did I go? Glacier National Park of coarse, only the prettiest and most peaceful place on earth. Not to mention my favorite place ever! I usually visit every year, which is not always the easiest to get there when you drive. It's almost a 10 hour drive from home but well worth it every single time.
I try and visit a different side of the park every time I visit, this time we visited Two Medicine.
Welcome to Two Medicine Lake. Isn't it gorgeous. The day we went to Two Medicine was a little cloudy and a little rainy which made hiking a little unsafe for the pregnant lady. Wouldn't want to slip and hurt myself or baby so we took it easy and just hung out in the area and then headed back to the lodge near by and had lunch.
What is there to do around Two Medicine?
* There is a boat that can take you to the other side of the lake where there is a short hike to Twin Falls and to Upper Two Medicine Lake. We were planning on do that but we missed the boat, I'm not too worried because we will go next year when more of my clothes fit me and I actually have rain gear haha
There was this cute little ranger station, shop, coffee shop right on the lake. It was a nice place to just get out of the rain for a second and buy a drink or treat.
We also did this little walk to this water fall, its called Running Eagle Falls. Super easy 0.6 mile to such a cool looking falls. I'm glad we turned around to do this short little walk.
PS do you see the black bear?
I've teamed up with Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza to help celebrate their Customer Appreciation Week, which is Monday Sept 7th - Thurs Sept 10th. They have some awesome deals going on this week to show the people of Elko, Evanston/Rocksprings, and all of Utah love!
Those deals include:
*50% OFF Pepperoni Pizza (excludes FAVES), limit 3
*A coupon for 50% off any regularly priced Hogle Zoo admission ticket (valid until Thurs Oct 1st)
During my visit to my local Papa Murphy's I got a tour and even got to make a few pizzas.
During the tour I got to see their HUGE mixer. Did you know they make their dough daily? Honestly their dough is one of my fav aspects of their pizza. I'm a massive carb lover and yep it hits the spot! He also showed me all their fresh veggies and the freezer with their loads amount of cheese, yet another one of my loves!
I was able to make 2 pizzas, 1 for me and 1 for baby! NOT, 1 for me and Haley (my awesome photographer) and the other 1 for Jeff, who by the way is Gluten Intolerant. Which is another reason why we frequent Papa Murphy's so much. They have yummy gluten free crusts that only take 12-18 minutes to bake. Although they are not a certified gluten free kitchen, LaMont made sure we made that pizza first so there wasn't any cross contamination. Jeff's not super sensitive to gluten but he defiantly have symptoms the next day if he eats it.
So pepperoni, green peppers, and jalapenos for Jeff. It's so great knowing that each pizza is customizable from the sauce you use, protein you eat, and the veggies you want on the pizza. It makes it an easy nutritious meal for any family.
Once you customize your pizza lets not forget how easy it is to take the pizza home and pop it in the oven in their bake and serve trays or pans for 12-15 minutes then BAM you have a meal to feed the whole fam!
The pizza is yummy, their salads are yummy, and so is their desserts. With that said I want to feed you and your family by giving you the chance to win a $25 gift card. The giveaway is on my Instagram and requires you to
*like my page @nikkihep
*and tag 2 friends you'd share dinner with if you won.
I was compensated for this review of Papa Murphy's. All opinions and statements remain 100% my own. #sponsored #ad
