blog met bump, bump met blog

August 10, 2015

Today is the first day that the baby bump has been on the blog, officially as an outfit post. But lets not think of these as outfit post, but more like bump updates.

Week 27

So you're probably wondering hows pregnancy going for me? Honestly I think I got off easy because I've had absolutely NO morning sickness! Yep you heard it, I haven't puked once. I've gotten slightly nauseous but nothing that includes being diaphoretic or gagging. Okay I've gagged, but when you work as a pregnant ICU nurse you are exposed to way more gross things than others.

Weight gain...yep it's there. I've been stressing way too much over it actually. I'm not restricting my intake at all, more just watching what I eat. How can you not stress over the weight gain though...

Sleeping...After getting a few extra pillows and sleeping in my own bed (Bear Lake was a little rough) I sleep like a champ. It's a little harder turning over, but still getting about 6-7 hours every night.

Clothes...ugh probably the hardest thing for me. I'm not wearing maternity pants yet but I have a feeling that it's coming. Lets just say American Eagle has been my best friend :) I've been hanging out in dresses pretty much all summer, which is very different for me because I never wear dresses.

Boobs...HOLY they've grown! YES!!!

Biking...Up until recently I biked quite a bit, about 10-15 miles a week. But it's become little more uncomfortable. I can still actually do it, but not enjoying it. Jeff is setting my other bike up with different handle bars so I can continue to ride. I can't wait to still get out on the paved trail and feel the wind in my hair. Mtn biking on the other hand, I won't allow myself to do it. Why? Because I only really love downhill mtn biking and that involves going fast and I know I won't be able to control my speed. I'll pick it back up next summer, along with a new bike!!

Kicking...Yep she's kicking for sure. I honestly thought I'd be freaked out by the feeling. I just imagine the scene from aliens when the alien comes through Rippleys chest and she's grabbing hold of it as she falling into the flames. Ya I was traumatized by those movies as a child so I remember every detail. But I just think of that scene every time I thought of something moving inside of me. Thank goodness it's more sentimental, comical, and at times embarrassing.  She kicked once and it was the weirdest feeling and I actually said 'Whoa' out loud while in a meeting...embarrassing :)

I think that's all the bump updates that I can think of. Tomorrow is my glucose test and I'm kind of nervous because I'm such a slow drinker. I seriously could sip on a can of coke all day long and I have to drink that same amount in 5 min...umm ya wish me luck!
