travel with me to: glacier n.p montana

January 05, 2015

One of the most breath-taking views I've ever seen is when you arrive at West Glacier in Glacier N.P. and you park in front of the small motel, store, and gift store by Lake McDonald and walk to the shore and see this. The air is clean, the lake is calm, and there is a small breeze on your cheek as you just sit and stare in awe. There are picnic tables, boat rentals, and a rocky beach where you can sit and dangle your feet in the water or even swim.

Glacier is more than just THAT breath taking view. From here you can drive on the Going to the Sun Road. This road is a major highlight to Glacier n.p. and provides views unlike any other mountain passages I've seen. I've always wanted to take a picture next to the waterfall wall, so get one for me ;)

Once you get to the top of Going to the Sun Road there is a visitors center and a hike up to a glacier. Make sure and enjoy both.

Now that you've enjoyed Going to the Sun Road and the visitor center you can either head back down the road you came or continue on. If you continue one you'll see St Marys Lake, gorgeous!

There is way more to Glacier n.p. than just these 3 locations. Remember this is just the tip off the iceberg, or glacier ;) and there are tons of hikes, lakes, waterfalls that I haven't even visited. Every year I travel to this amazing place and every year I leave with more respect for mother nature.

If you've been to Glacier I want to know what your favorite part is, hike, experience etc.
