Hike Huntsville beach and Wheeler Creek Trail

January 12, 2015

Isn't the snow gorgeous! I knew once I looked outside and saw the foot of fresh snow I had to get out and enjoy it, especially since I didn't get called into work last night. Now I love snowboarding, but I think it's way overpriced and have a hard time spending that much money for it, I don't own snowshoes (yet, or hopefully soon), and I don't have cross country skies sooo I literally put on my warmest clothes and my Sorel boots and went off for a winter hike. It was way fun, way better than I thought it was going to be. Here are my photos from my time in the snow…

I went to 2 locations, the first one was the beach in Huntsville and the 2nd was Wheeler Creek Trail which is at the top of Ogden Canyon. There was a lot of snowshoeing marks and I actually saw a family snowshoeing while I was there, I just hiked up the trail and did fine. I didn't go to the top of the trail, which is 1.8 miles, but stopped about 1/4th of the way up and pulled over to have a cup of hot chocolate that I was hiding in my new Gear for Good backpack. I wish I could have enjoyed the whole trail but I had to be home by a certain time.
